About Trestlework

At Trestlework, we are on a mission to bridge the compliance gap faced by medical device developers and increase the availability of innovative, life-changing technology.

Our approach includes education, customized guidance, and practical support. We focus on understanding the unique needs of our clients and crafting tailored solutions that are efficient and affordable. We have worked at multiple start-ups ourselves, and have first-hand experience navigating the challenges faced on the path to market.

Founder & Principal

Aimee is an experienced engineer, researcher, writer, and regulatory affairs professional and serves as your main contact at Trestlework. She is passionate about helping medical device developers turn their beneficial device ideas into reality and get their safe and effective technologies to those who need them the most.

She received her bachelor’s in engineering with dual concentrations in electrical and mechanical engineering from Swarthmore College in 2003, and her master’s in mechanical engineering with course concentrations in mechatronics and neuroscience from Northwestern University in 2007. She also holds a certificate in editing from the University of Chicago. She is a member of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS).

Prior to founding Trestlework, Aimee was the Director of Research Operations and Regulatory Affairs at a small medical device company in Chicago, where she gained broad experience on topics ranging from quality management systems to 510(k) submissions for a Class II prosthetic device.

Outside of work, Aimee loves to adventure with her two small kids and is an amateur photographer, aspiring graphic designer, and Photoshop pro. She serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors at Trilogy Behavioral Healthcare, a local non-profit serving individuals in Chicago with mental illness.
